During the daytime, I've been laying her down in her crib in her own room for naps. I didn't think I would want to so soon. But I'm ready and I don't think she really cares either way. Truth be told, if she did have a preference, it would be to sleep in our bed in her co sleeper and that's not happening anymore, hopefully. Currently she sleeps in a Rock n Play in our room. If you haven't seen one before, it looks like this

It's awesome because it's already elevated for her reflux and its easy to rock when mom is too tired to actually get out of bed to rock her a bit. It also has cute bunny ears that stick out where her head is.

However it's time for her to be in her own room. Not being able to go in your own room because you will wake her is crazy. I need baby free time to (attempt to) clean my house, clean myself, cook, eat etc. For the record, she does not stay asleep no matter how much noise we make. We use the white noise, the fan, dishwasher, dryer, tv. If you walk past her, she uses her super senses and wakes up almost every time. I find this strange as there are other times I have attempted to wake her or to keep her awake with zero success. This has not been the case so far in her own room when I have gone to check on her.
So then comes the crib above. So far her naps are almost a success. She doesn't mind being laid down when she starts to get sleepy. Especially if I turn on Ms. Seahorse or Mr. Giraffe (the tall one- he makes jungle noises or white noise). Baby Giraffe in the corner just smells like lavender. We haven't made it past a 30 minute nap- but that isn't really a crib vs mom's room thing. She just mostly cat naps rather than staying asleep for long periods. Wish us luck with the new transition.
Other news- she had her 8 week appointment. She now weighs 10 pounds 3 ounces. She is 20 3/4 inches long. She is in the 10th percentile for her height and head size and 50% for her weight. She also received her 8 week immunizations. It's pretty popular it seems like around here to delay or not have the immunizations. I just don't think I could live with it if she caught something because I was too afraid to immunize her. No Polio for my daughter, thank you. The shots mostly startled her and she didn't like them. But the crying didn't last much more than a minute. She did receive her first princess bandaids too. There will probably be many more to come. She really didn't have much in the way of side affects. After about 4 hours I think she was feeling it and was not fond of it. Other than some grumpiness that was about it. She is back to being her happy little busy body again.

| This is a total Olivia moment |
I had just finished changing her diaper in the car. I sat her up for a minute while I tucked everything away. It's crazy to think that in 16 years, she will actually be behind the wheel again ready to drive!!
We've had a few people ask us what the plans are since Steven is graduated from TBS. I'll bet you'll be super surprised when I tell you he is going back to school. I know- you're shocked. He's only been in school 7 years. What's another 6 months? I'm actually extremely proud of him.
We are staying put here until the end of the year while he goes through Comms school here in Quantico. That actually doesn't start until the middle of July. In the meantime, he is helping out with a program called Leatherneck. It's where the students from the Naval Academy who want to be Marines come down for screening. Most guys who become Marine Officers have to go through Officer Candidate School, which is also here. However, the Naval Academy has a separate screening process. There's a lot more to it, but that's the gist of it.
Week one of Leatherneck isn't done and Steven has been out to the field twice. Yesterday he came home and informed me he, along with everyone else, had to swim through brown water notorious for giving people pink eye and other infections and smells like sewage. hmmmm....
